Hey semua! Kenallin, my name is Brigitta Cavielle Legawa, you can call me Iel [i-yell]. I am a second-year Extended Psychology [Bachelor of Arts] student. So, even if we don’t have the same classes let’s be friends. Okay, so guys! I want to give premium access to my diary through the one and only InterestED. Diary? A bit too personal? Tapi, jujur ini my diary as an international student in Brisbane, Australia untuk my ?UNIVERSITY JOURNEY?. I wanted to share all the happy, hectic, and frustrating moments I encountered as I was preparing my journey. TBH, It was a hectic start and so is this series. So come on! Grab your popcorn and enjoy!!

I was sitting alone in the library looking out the window. On the table, study guides and textbooks are everywhere because I was preparing for the scary IB mock exams ahhahahha but my daydreaming was disrupted by an email sent by UQ. I panicked. UQ was my first choice as I wanted to go there ever since I know about Brisbane. I checked my email. Dag dig dug beneran deh hati ku. I saw the word “Congratulations” and I immediately feel immense gratitude and relief. After my mock exam, I am ready for my university journey.

BUT! Before anything! I want to share my application journey before my arrival in Brisbane.

When I started my UQ journey, I was kewalahan. Everything seems so complicated. Thankfully, my counselor introduced me to Ibu Fitria, Indonesia and Phillipines’ admission officer. She helped me with the whole application process but the one organization who helps me with all the documents and applications was InterestEd. Ini aku jujur banget ya bukan karena I am InterestEd’s Brizzy mate but i speak from the heart.  From application to accommodation, they helped a lot. I would be clueless if I don't have their guidance. I received help from Kak Bea (former InterestED) and Kak Azki for everything and they answered my patience and wisdom. I would definitely recommend you for choosing InterestEd for your academic journey. Go to their Insta or my Instagram (@brigittacavielle) for you to inquire about UQ or InterestEd in general. More about InterestEd later and now let's resume my accommodation journey.

After knowing that I would be seeing the purple Jacarandas, I immediately search for the perfect accommodation that could accommodate my sister and me. We are looking for a place that is not far from my uni or hers (she's a Griffith student, so anyone who wants to go to Griffith you can ask her at @nicolegawa). After comparing 4788462984 student accommodations, we found the right one for us. It’s in Unilodge Park Central (This is not sponsored), Woolloongabba. All the application process including the moving of the dates were handled professionally with InterestEd. Now, here I am writing this piece for you on behalf of InterestEd because we care about the student’s experience and wanted to help in any shape and form for you to have easier transition from your previous academic journey.

Next, I will share you about the story of pre-departure and looking forward to personalized lists of things to bring!! Look forward to it! Bye for now.

Best,

Brigitta
